Sharp/NEC Display Solutions Europe pre-announced a new UST DLP FullHD projector that can create images up to 5,000 Ansi lumens and with images up to 150″. The throw ratio is 0.23:1. The firm showed the unit, which it recommends for signage applications in leisure and museum environments at the recent ISE 2022 show.
What We Think
To me, apart from the luminance, this looks like a consumer device. Sharp, of course, has a consumer business, while NEC has been focused on B2B for a long time. As far as I know, Sharp/NEC doesn’t have the channel to market for consumers, these days. We double checked with NEC who told us that the product was developed for the B2B business and is intended to compete with the Epson EB-805F signage UST device. (BR)
