Schott announced new ” AS 87 eco” ultra-thin glass for display protection, fingerprint sensors and protecting camera lenses. Features include:
- Technical properties and thickness levels of 70-350 micrometers ensure highest performance and allow bended or folded designs of the future.
- Thickness tolerance is below ± 10 micrometers
- Environment-friendly with no need for hazardous hydrofluoric acid slimming
- “Made in Germany”
AS 87 eco with a thickness of 70 micrometers is claimed to reach a bending radius as low as three millimeters and enables curved device designs of the future:

Schott claims to be the only company that can make ultra-thin glass that can be chemically toughened without the need for harmful acids for slimming.
