Samsung to manufacture 200 units of 110-inch MicroLED TV in January

What They Say

The Elec reported that Samsung is intending to make 200 units of its 110″ microLED TV in January, up from around a dozen per month. It is still trying to develop the market and the firm is planning to add 89″, 99″, 101″ and 114″ versions this year. The 99″ version is reported to be based on a PCB, but the other sizes on glass substrates with LTPS.

What We Think

Although The Elec reports manufacture of a dozen LED TVs per month by Samsung, in its review of its 2022 forecasts, DSCC said that the firm had only sold around 30 for the year at an average price of $120K. Perhaps Samsung is planning to either cut the price or make a special offer to resellers to get demo units out into the market. (BR)
