Samsung Sued by Huawei

Samsung has been ordered to pay 80 million Yuan ($11.6m) to Huawei for breaching Huawei patents by a court in Quanzhou, China. The companies are reported to be in a number of court battles over patents. Huawei claims that Samsung uses the technology in more than 20 mobile products.

Separately, Huawei lost a court battle in the UK to Unwired Planet, which had acquired patents from Nokia for 4G. The Nevada-based company is also suing Samsung, Google and Apple. The court in the UK ruled that Huawei had to pay a licence fee on a global basis, not just on local sales.
