Samsung QLED TVs Receive International Quantum Dot Display Certification

Samsung Electronics has secured ‘Real Quantum Dot Display’ certification from TÜV Rheinland for its latest QLED TV lineup, providing third-party validation of the company’s quantum dot technology and reinforcing its position in the premium television market.

The German-based international certification organization verified that Samsung’s QLED TVs comply with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 62595-1-6 standard, which defines the application of quantum dot light converting units combined with blue light sources for standard QLED displays.

During the certification process, TÜV Rheinland analyzed the light spectrum produced by Samsung QLED TVs and confirmed clear separation between red, green, and blue wavelengths, a critical indicator of color accuracy. This distinct separation is enabled by quantum dots and may be less pronounced in displays using alternative materials, which can result in color mixing or reduced clarity.

The certification covers Samsung’s complete premium TV range, including Neo QLED 8K models (QN990F, QN900F), Neo QLED 4K series (QN90F, QN85F, QN80F, QN70F), and QLED 4K televisions (Q8F, Q7F, Q6F).
