Galaxy Club in the Netherlands reported a couple of new Samsung Korean patents that show how a smartphone screen could have several zones that could be updated at different refresh rates.
What We Think
This is an intriguing idea. I’m assuming that the different zones would be fixed and not variable – I’m not sure how you would make the interfacing work otherwise. I struggle interpreting patents at the best of times, so haven’t tried to rely on a ‘mechanical translation’ to English to dig into this. (BR)
