Although patents are not normally an area that we cover, this one should be noted. Samsung has been awarded a patent by the US Patent & Trademark Office, for a flexible display for foldable TVs and tablets.
The patent is not limited to OLED displays, but also details LCD technology for smaller screens.
As with any patent, there is no guarantee that this will come to fruition – it was first filed a year ago, after all. However, Samsung has been active in the flexible/foldable screen category in recent years.
