What They Say
The Elec reported that Samsung Electronics is delaying the start of production of its 89″ microLED TVs, which was originally set for May. The plan is now to start in the third quarter. The plan for the 101″, which was also originally planned in May, is yet to be decided, but the 99″ will start production in Q2. The 99″ is based on PCBs and is technically similar to the 110″ launched last year.
The 89″, 101″ and 114″ units are believed to be using LTPS substrates. The 89″ is reported to be using 34 x 85 micrometres in size, smaller than the 75 x 125 micrometre devices used in the 99″ and 110″,
What We Think
The arrival of microLED TVs is gradually receding as a significant segment, it seems. (BR)
