Samsung Launches Galaxy A7 with Triple-Lens Primary Camera

Samsung has launched its new Galaxy A7 smartphone. The device features a 6″ Super AMOLED display, with a resolution of 1080 × 2220, 441ppi and a 18.5:9 aspect ratio.

It runs Android 8, powered by an octa-core 2.2GHz Cortex-A53 CPU, up to 6GB RAM and up to 128GB internal storage. A micro SD card slot also provides the means to boost the internal storage by a further 512GB.

Where the A7 sets itself apart from its competition is its triple-lens primary camera system, which incorporates a 24MP autofocus lens, an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 5MP depth lens, capable of shooting video in up to 2160p30, alongside a 24MP internal camera that can film in 1080p30. Both cameras can capture in HDR.

It also incorporates NFC technology (albeit limited to certain territories, it would seem), as well as a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The device is launching in European and Asian markets first, beginning in October, with a wider release to follow thereafter.

Pricing for the Galaxy A7 hasn’t yet been announced.
