LG to Announce V35 ThinQ Successor Next Month

LG will officially launch its next flagship smartphone at an event in New York on October 3rd. The V40 ThinQ is the successor to the V35, which launched in June. According to GSMArena, it will feature a 6.5″ P-OLED display with a resolution of 1440 × 3120 pixels, 495 ppi and an 18:9 aspect ratio.

A Snapdragon 845 chipset powers the Android 8.1 operating system, and the handset packs up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB internal storage, which can also be expanded by up to 512GB via a micro SD card.

LG’s V35 ThinQ smartphone launched earlier this year.

The V40 ThinQ also features the second triple-lens primary camera of the week (after Samsung announced its new Galaxy A7 model), which incorporates a 16 MP, 13 MP and 8 MP lens with 3x optical zoom and optical image stabilisation. It can shoot video in 2160p30, 1080p30/60 and 720p120, and it can also capture images and videos in HDR. Additionally, the V40 includes an 8MP internal camera.

The handset also features NFC technology and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Official pricing information or details about launch territories will have to wait until the launch event, but GSMArena points to a price of around €800 (about $945).
