Samsung has added two new UltraHD Blu-ray players, the UBD-M9500 and UBD-M8500, which will replace the UBD-K8500, launched last year. The M8500 is effectively a replacement for the K8500, while the M9500 has new features including a ”private cinema mode” that transmits sound wirelessly to bluetooth headphones. It can also transcode content for display on smartphone or other mobile displays. It also supports 360º video.
The two units list in the US at $299 and $399 but will also be available in Europe.
As before, Samsung has chosen to support HDR10 but not Dolby Vision or, as far as we could tell, HLG. (BR)
