Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 5G Display review: Big screen, solid performance

What They Say

DxoMark tested the Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G display and gave the display a ranking at #7 in the overall ranking, #5 in the ultra-premium segment.

Pros

  • The brightness is adapted when watching HDR10 video content.
  • Very smooth in most use cases, including playing video games, web browsing, or scrolling in the gallery app.
  • Touch is very accurate on the whole display area.

Cons

  • Display is not very readable outdoors.
  • A yellow cast and oversaturated colors are noticeable in most tested conditions.
  • The crease is visible in most conditions.

The site found that the white point shifted strongly towards blue when thee screen was viewed off-axis. It also pointed out that there is a visible artefact under the display.

What We Think

On the one hand, the Z Fold 3 is the most expensive mainstream smartphone, so you might expect the result to be as high as possible, but with the immense technical challenges of making this device, my view is that to be #5 in the ultra-premium segment is pretty impressive. (BR)
