Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ to Be Unveiled at CES?

Samsung will apparently be showing off its next flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S9 and S9+, at the Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show in January, according to VentureBeat. Citing “someone briefed on the company’s plans”, VentureBeat said that Samsung will reveal its next handset ahead of its official launch event in March, which will still go ahead as normal.

According to VentureBeat’s source, Samsung’s next flagship smartphones will look identical to their predecessors.

VentureBeat’s source also reported expected details of the smartphone’s specifications. They will reportedly feature the same 5.8″ and 6.2″ Super AMOLED Infinity displays as their predecessors and the S9 will include 4GB RAM. Meanwhile, the S9+ is expected to feature 6GB RAM, as well as a dual rear-facing camera like the Note 8. Both devices are believed to include AKG stereo speakers and 64GB internal storage, expandable with a micro SD card.

VentureBeat also makes mention of a backwards-compatible DeX station that allows the S9 and S9+ to act as a touchpad or a virtual keyboard.

If Samsung doesn’t change the size and resolution of its displays, no doubt it will try to improve the other performance parameters, such as brightness and performance in high ambient. (BR)
