Samsung Galaxy S21 screen leak says it’ll be remarkably different to the Galaxy S20

What They Say

Samsung may move away from using curved edges to its displays in the Samsung Galaxy S21 smartphone, due early next year. There is a possibility according to the report that a curved one will be used, but that would delay shipment.

What We Think

It seems way too late, to me, to change the design, whether it’s flat or curved. Samsung depends on operator deals as well as retail sales, and operators need devices for a long period of acceptance testing before launch.

Other rumours are that the S21 will use LTPO for variable refresh up to 120Hz and the Ultra version will have S Pen support. (which calls into question whether there will ever be a Note 21). I have a Note 9 and occasionally the pen is very useful, although I use it very rarely. I did see a forecast that peak brightness would be 1600 cd/m² , but I’m discounting that as the iPhone 12 is only just over 800 cd/m² . (BR)
