Samsung Electronics has reacted to the furore over its manipulation of HDR grey levels to optimise benchmark results by issuing new firmware (update 1211) for its S95B TV. (A Testing Scandal or Just ‘Early Days’?)

Vincent Teoh of HDTVTest had a look at the performance with the new firmware and found the PQ curve in HDR Filmmaker mode is now accurate. He suggests that some motion artefacts at very low grey levels may be why the firm slightly boosted the low grey level of content.
After the change, he rates the TV very highly as the best consumer HDR TV so far. (BR)
