Samsung is fighting back against the success of OLED TV. As well as the expected special promotions (cash back and free Blu-ray players) on QLED TVs, in Slovakia the company is offering to swap out a small number of OLED TVs for the same size QLEDs for just €1, while more owners of OLEDs will get discount vouchers for 50%.
Samsung is also reported to be due to ship a new “Q6″ line of lower cost QLED TVs in Q4 of this year at prices ‘significantly’ lower than the price of the Q7 line. Initially there will be a 50″ and that will be followed by 55″ and smaller sizes as the sets will be targetted at the European market, where 55” OLEDs have done well.
