Samsung: DQHD monitor with QLED, 120 Hz and KVM switch

What They Say

As well as its very high end miniLED Neo G9 monitor (Samsung’s 49-inch mini-LED gaming monitor will sell for $2,500), Samsung has a new 49″ 5120 x 1440 (32:9) monitor with support for DisplayHDR 400. It has refresh of 120Hz and is curved to 1800R. The VA panel has 3,000:1 contrast and response times of 4ms (gtg)/ 1ms MPRT and 10 bit colour. QDs are used to boost colour gamut to 95% of DCI-P3.

Connections include USB Type C (90W charging) and there is an integrated KVM as well as an integrated RJ45 port.

The released date is not yet published but German retailers have it listed at €1200.

What We Think

Samsung’s monitor business has pivoted away from a share focus to a profit focus over recent years as the firm has had less vertical integration in its monitor business and has reduced the number of monitor panels that it has made. (BR)
