We reported on a release by Samsung that talked about new miniLED driving chips, the S6LP441 and S6LDMB1. (Samsung Promotes new MiniLED Controller Architecture). The chips are not listed on the firm’s website so we couldn’t find any more information and followed up to ask for more information. This is the result we got:
“at this time we cannot disclose any more information than the ones currently available on the article.”
What We Think
I have long believed that driving technology was a key to mini- and microLED development, so it is frustrating that Samsung will not give any information. We assume from the lack of promotion of the chips that it plans to keep them for its own internal use for now, although if any readers have different information, I’d be pleased to know! (BR)
