The ETNews reports that Samsung Display is to begin the production of the new QDOLED displays in November this year and has already ordered materials. The paper also said that initial production will be use by Sony and by Samsung Electronics in TVs.
A high-ranking Samsung Electronics official said, “We are reviewing the application of QD, but we have not decided on a specific release schedule yet because we need to check the yield of the display a little more.”
What We Think
I would expect a slowish ramp up on this technology. If there was one thing that might get me to Las Vegas in January, it would be to see sets based on this panel. (BR)
