What They Say
The Elec reported that Samsung Display has been selected to head a Korean national project to develop oxide TFTs that have an order of magnitude improvement in electron mobility to allow the development of higher resolution OLEDs up to 1000ppi and to reduce production costs.
The report put current oxide mobility at 10 cm²/Vs and said this is one of 66 projects initiated by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy for displays in 2025.
What We Think
Oxide TFTs with their higher mobility than amorphous have been, Prof Ching Tang said in his Kyoto Prize lecture this week, a key enabler of the success of OLED. We will be publishing a full report on his talk as a Display Daily on Friday. (BR)
