Samsung Display to build more foldable OLED module lines

The Elec has reported that Samsung is adding three new production lines to its factory in Vietnam to make foldable OLED modules. The aim is to boost capacity from 1.4 to 1.5 million displays per month to 2 million per month in 10 production lines, assuming 100% yield. The report said that current yield is 90%. Samsung has placed the equipment orders already.

The display business plans to ship 14 million of 18 million capacity next year to its own handset division which is reported to have a target of 13 million handsets in 2022.

This report is very consistent with the numbers that DSCC put out earlier this week. (BR)
