Samsung Display has been expected to make a half G10.5 LCD fab (2940 x 1685mm) to allow three 75″ or 4 65″ panels to be made with as much as 94% glass efficiency and to help the company compete with G10.5 fabs. The use of a smaller size substrate was expected to allow a relatively fast ramp compared to a full G10.5 fab.
However, reports in the Korean press report that Samsung has decided instead to use the investment money to boost its small/medium OLED capacity.
