Samsung has filed a suit in the US claiming that JOLED and Asustek have infringed a patent (USPTO # 9,768,240) relating to transistor arrays. The patented technology is said to be used in the ProArt PQ22UC monitor.
JOLED made a patent claim against Samsung in June 2020.
What We Think
Although I was once offered effectively unlimited money if I had the evidence to back up my belief that a very significant power-saving patent could possibly have been invalidated by some prior art (I haven’t thrown away any of my paper notebooks since), I have not really been involved in patent litigation. When I saw this story, I did think that the Samsung action might well be a counter attack move over the JOLED claim. (BR)
