Samsung Display Begins Mass Production and Wants to Double Sales of UHD QD-OLED Monitors in 2024

Samsung Display has recently announced the start of mass production for its new 31.5-inch QD-OLED monitors with UHD (3840×2160) resolution. This development, the company claims, introduces the highest pixel density and UHD resolution in self-emissive monitors to date, integrating ultra-precision inkjet printing technology to achieve a pixel density of 140 ppi (pixel per inch). This pixel density mirrors that of Samsung’s latest 65-inch 8K TVs.

The company;s manufacturing has optimized the inkjet nozzle and the amount of injection in the QD emitting layer, enhancing the overall quality and performance of the monitors. In addition to the UHD resolution products, Samsung Display is also preparing to launch a 27-inch QHD QD-OLED monitor in 2024 with 360Hz refresh rates.

This monitor should be of particularly significant for FPS games, where rapid screen switching and precision are crucial. The combination of a 360Hz refresh rate and a fast response speed of 0.03ms is expected to enhance the gaming experience substantially.

Samsung Display is set to expand its offerings with various sizes ranging from 27-inch to 49-inch, targeting the premium monitor market. The company aims to more than double its shipment of QD-OLED monitors in 2024.
