What They Say
SAIST, the Samsung Research Institute, has developed a stretchable OLED that can be stuck to the skin to monitor vital signs according to PulseNews in Korea. The research was published in the journal Science Advances.
The display can be stretched by up to 30% without degrading the performance, and a device was tested 1,000 times. The flexible sensor provided a stronger signal than a rigid silicon sensor.
What We Think
There is clearly a lot of opportunity for this kind of device. However, approvals can be tricky and costs need to be low for widespread adoption. (BR)
