Samsung has introduced its 3D Cinema LED screen at Arena Cinemas’ Sihlcity theater in Switzerland. Designed and installed with the help of Imaculix AG, the 3D-ready variation of Samsung’s Cinema LED screen is designed to maintain consistent brightness for the delivery of subtitle text, images and minor visual details.
Claimed to be the industry’s first Digital Cinema Initiatives-certified HDR theatre display, the screen stretches nearly 10.3m wide and 5.4m in height, featuring nearly 9 million pixels, 2160p resolution and peak brightness levels of 146fL. The screen is paired with audio technologies from Harman International’s JBL Professional brand.
Samsung demonstrated the 3D technology at ISE and we had a chance to have a look. However, that was only a low resolution version, so we’ll have to see if we can find a reason to visit Zurich! (Samsung Really Emphasises LED) (BR)
