Samsung has added an ‘Active’ version of its Galaxy S8 smartphone that uses a 5.8″ display and using a raised metal surround to protect its ‘shatter resistant’ display which was tested against 21 of the requirements of MIL-STD-810G including temperature, dust, shock, vibration, low pressure and high altitude. The display is said to be shatter resistant in drops onto flat surfaces from up to 60″ (180cm). It is waterproof at depths of up to 60″ (180cm) for 30 minutes.
The battery is a 4,000 mAh battery that can support wireless charging. The cameras are dual 12MP devices.
