There are lots of rumours flowing around the market about two new Apple MacBooks. Our friends at IHS Markit certainly believe that there will be two versions, each with a 13.3″ display with 2560 x 1600 resolution (16:10). One might replace the 12″ MacBook Air. The current 13″ MacBook Air is expected to drop out of the range because it has a non-Retina display.

Other sources suggest a possible OLED display, but we think that would be very unlikely. In the past, dropping the lower resolution MacBooks might have been a challenge in terms of power efficiency, but technologies such as LTPS and oxide transistor substrates can boost efficiency. (BR)
