Rumour: Samsung Will Cut OLED Prices

Korean media outlets have published multiple claims about Samsung’s OLED capacity. iNews 24 says that the company will ‘mass produce’ transparent OLED displays this month, with initial supply mainly going to retailers in North America (Louis Vuitton was named in the report). ‘Many’ of the products will be 55″ Full HD units. Another report, from EDaily, says that Samsung aims to cut small- and mid-size OLED display pricing by up to 20% by mid-2016. The cut, which would take the OLED-to-LCD price premium down to 10%, would help to cope with increased demand from Chinese vendors.
