European entertainment network RTL Group has invested in Israeli VR company Inception, earning a 15% stake in the company.
RTL has released apps for Oculus Rift, Samsung Gear, iOS, Android, Google Daydream and HTC Vive, and is also developing for Microsoft Windows Mixed Reality and Sony PlayStation VR.
Inception, a self-proclaimed “next-generation immersive content network”, launched in October 2016, and has secured $15 million from its investors.
The investment has benefits for both companies, allowing for a merging of technology and expertise, and enhancements to content creation and distribution, they said.
