SFA Engineering has announced that it has signed a $53.5 million contract with OLED developer, Royole to supply OLED manufacturing equipment, although the type of deposition equipment was not disclosed.
Royole is building a G5.5 fab in China for flexible OLEDs with an initial capacity of 7,500 substrates per month in phase 1 which was expected to have move-in of equipment in Q3 of this year with ramp-up early in 2018. That would be inline with the timing of the SFA order. The company may then double the capacity towards the end of 2018, but this is still to be finalised.
