Irdeto, a world leader in digital platform security, today announced it will provide security solutions and services to RCS & RDS, the largest cable and satellite television operator in Romania. Software-based Irdeto Cloaked CA, integrated with the SMIT conditional access module (CAM), will enable RCS & RDS to deliver secure video entertainment services to digital TVs.
RCS & RDS required advanced protection against piracy threats as they transitioned from analogue subscriptions to a digital platform in their Digi TV cable network. By combining Irdeto Cloaked CA and SMIT’s CAM, RCS & RDS were not only able to protect valuable content effectively but also ensure maximum cost efficiency. This allowed them to support more modern devices for their existing and new Digi TV customers, and even offer the flexibility of multiple devices per household.
