Four companies have been announced as producing Roku TVs (TVs with the Roku smart functionality built in): TCL, Hisense, Haier and Insignia. Now, Sharp has joined this small-but-growing group.
Both new TVs – the 42.6″ LC-43LB371U and 49.7″ LC-50LB371U – will be on sale exclusively at Best Buy in the USA and Canada. Sharp told us that there are no plans for a European release of these models.
Roku is the stand-out feature on these TVs, which both have the Netflix Recommended logo. They have 1920 x 1080 resolution, a 60Hz refresh rate and 6.5ms response time, as well as 178° viewing angles.
Two 8W speakers are built in and HDMI (x3), composite and USB ports are featured. Sharp will be selling the TVs soon, for $380 (42.6″) and $500 (49.7″).
Insignia joined Roku at CES and prices were announced for the partnership’s TVs at the same time as the Sharp models were announced. Insignia’s 32″ Roku TV will be available for $230 and the 55″ for $550. These products will also be sold at Best Buy and are Netflix Recommended.
