Rimowa Now Has Two Airline Clients

Rimowa’s integrated label can now carry images and text. Image:MekoRimowa of Germany makes high end luggage that includes E Ink active luggage tags and we have reported on the firm before. Since last year, support for the company’s baggage with integrated labels, which are available on all its ranges except the cabin baggage, the super-lightweight range and the ‘classic retro’ range was only from Lufthansa at Frankfurt. Now, there are three terminals with self drop stations that support luggage with the tags (Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich) and at other airports that Lufthansa uses, normal scanners can be used. The company has also added EVA Air of Taiwan as a supporter.

Rimowa told us that it is continuing to work with other airlines (around 30) to get support, but, as confirmed by BagTag, the airlines are very conservative.

The firm told us that it has further developed the software so that owners can put images and other details such as addresses on the labels, now.
