Ricoh Brings True High Definition Visual Experience to Home Theater

Ricoh today announced the expansion of its projector lineup with its first-ever home theater projector, which combines the benefits of a world-class business technology with the latest entertainment features. The new home theater solution can display up to a 300″ diagonal image in spaces such as family rooms.

These capabilities combine to make the RICOH PJ HDC5420 an excellent choice for entertainment applications, such as 2D and 3D movie viewing and video gaming in home theater environments, as well as professional business uses such as clubs, museums and restaurants.

The RICOH PJ HDC5420 provides life-like images via a six-segment RGBRGB color wheel for richer colors and faithful skin tone reproduction. The RGBRGB color wheel includes sections of cyan, yellow and white to increase brightness and provides the highest possible image quality for movie viewing. This feature, combined with the projector’s true high definition (1920 x 1080 dpi) resolution makes it well suited to home theater use. The RICOH PJ HDC5420 boasts a 0.65″ DLP chip and 16:9 aspect ratio to help ensure a true high definition visual experience. The RICOH PJ HDC5420 also supports multiple image and color correction modes, to help users get the image quality they want regardless of projection surface color, ambient lighting conditions, or video format. The new projector supports Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL), which enables users to display content from a variety of devices.

“The way we consume media at home is changing. Movies, TV and video game visuals available in the home have never been so stunning, thanks to technological advances,” said John Brophy, Vice President, Product Marketing, Ricoh USA, Inc. “Our newest home theater projector helps customers get the most out of those improved visuals, by projecting them beautifully, accurately and brightly from a variety of devices.”

Features include:

Sustainable use: Eco Mode doubles lamp life, from 3,000 hours to 6,000.
Movie theater experience: True high definition quality picture, with 1920 x 1080 dpi, RGBRGB color wheel for vibrant colors, and a 16:9 aspect ratio
