Researchers address the blue light issue of perovskite-based LEDs

What They Say

Researchers from Korea have developed a new Perovskite-based LED device that can emit blue light and that is claimed to be three times more efficient than previous devices, although at 10% efficiency, it is still less than half of the efficiency of red and green.

Researcher Choong-Hyun Jang, the first author, commented:

“This study solved the fundamental problem of blue PeLED by changing the properties of the interface between the perovskite and the hole transport layer (interface between different materials), not the perovskite emission layer itself. It is significant”.

What We Think

We’re planning a more detailed Display Daily article on this topic. Perovskites remain an interesting material for emissive display research. (BR)
