According to The Investor, anonymous industry sources recently informed the publication that LG Display is supplying OLED panels to Hisense, a TV maker in China that is rumoured to be launching its first OLED TV during the third quarter of 2018. Hisense joins Panasonic, Philips, Sony and Toshiba, who also feature LG panels in their OLED TV products.
One of the sources commented, “LG Display is enjoying a near monopoly in the OLED TV panel market. Largely buoyed by the surging demand, its OLED TV panel business division is expected to see operating profit for the first time this year”.
