TVs as computing platforms, albeit thin client ones, is a thing. They may never ever have a keyboard or mouse, but they certainly will have game controllers. When you consider that cable companies would literally nominally rent hundreds of dollars of hardware just to get that monthly services bill, are we really that far away from TVs being fundamentally a subscriber product?
