Raon Tech was a new name to us. The company is from Korea and has developed its own LCOS devices that are optimised for near to eye (NTE) applications. The 720P version is 0.5″ and the 1080P version is just 0.55″. The small size is to help with systems integration in NTE applications. VA LCD technology is used in the displays. Raon Tech had a “technology demo” headset and is ready for mass production. The firm has also developed its own controllers including what is claimed to be a unique dual display board. We were told that all the other LCOS suppliers need two separate drive systems.
