The Kobo Libra Colour, the premier model among Rakuten Kobo’s new releases, features a 7-inch display and an ergonomic curved design for ease of use. It offers 32GB of storage, accommodating up to 24,000 e-books or 150 audiobooks. It also introduces Dropbox and Google Drive support, a first for a 7-inch Kobo device. Kobo claims the device’s battery can last up to 40 days on a single charge.

The Kobo Libra Colour supports a stylus for users who prefer interactive note-taking and highlighting in their reading material. This feature, as well as color highlighting, is also available in the Kobo Clara Colour. Both the Kobo Libra Colour and Kobo Clara Colour are designed with sustainability in mind, incorporating recycled materials and repair-friendly features to align with the company’s environmental commitments. The eReaders are offered alongside accessories such as SleepCovers, available in multiple colors and made from recycled materials. In addition to the color models, Kobo announced the Kobo Clara BW, a new version of its black-and-white eReader, featuring an upgraded screen and enhanced processing power.

The Kobo Libra Colour is priced at $249.00 CAD/$219.99 USD, the Kobo Clara Colour at $179.99 CAD/$149.99 USD, and the Kobo Clara BW at $159.99 CAD/$129.99 USD. Pre-orders for the devices have started, with availability starting April 30, 2024, in several countries including Canada, the US, and across Europe and Asia.
