Radiant Prepared for OLED Adoption

Backlight unit (BLU) maker Radiant Opto-Electronics plans to diversify its customer base, relying less upon Apple in the future. This is because Apple is expected to move its iPhone to using OLED displays, which do not require a backlight. Company chairman PJ Wang told an investors’ conference that Radiant does not expect other panel makers (aside from Samsung Display) to enter the OLED smartphone market until the first half of 2018, at the earliest.
