Quanta Computer reported Q2 net profits of NT$3.98 billion ($131.2 million), up 13.6%, on turnover which rose 13.3% YoY to NT$235.37 billion ($7.8 billion). The company commented that it would have seen a decline in profit from sales, had it not been for growth in income due to currency exchanges. For the first six months there was profit of NT$6.77 billion ($223.3 million), down 4.9%, on revenue of NT$463.3 billion ($15.3 billion), up 14.4%. The company shipped 10.6 million notebooks in Q2, resulting in first half shipments of 19.8 million, up 4.2%.
July sales are down 6.4% MoM but up 19.1% YoY to NT$85.96 billion ($2.8 billion), bringing sales for the year to date to NT$549.24 billion ($18.1 billion), up 15.1%. Quanta expects further improvement in the rest of the year.
