Qualcomm introduced the 630 and 660 Snapdragon application processors which are updates on the Snapdragon 625 and 653 processors with more power, more features and better connectivity as well as addressing battery life. Performance is said to be 20% to 30% faster and the chips support FastCharge 4 which allows ‘up to’ five hours of talk time from five minutes of charging and 50% battery life with 15 minutes of charging.

The two chips are pin and software compatible and are made with a 14nm FinFET process. The 630 is for displays up to FullHD, while the 660 supports up to 2560 x 1440. They both support EcoPix display technology. The 660 is shipping now and the 630 at the end of the month.
