Server CPU shipments decreased -13% from last quarter and were down -17% from last year.

Jon Peddie, president of JPR, commented, “Q1’s decrease in client CPU shipments from four quarters of positive news threw a few off, especially investors. It’s actually good news in a sense if it is an indication that the market has stabilized and has returned to its traditional cyclic behavior. If that’s the case, and we think it is, Q2 will also be down.”

The above information and more can be found in the new Q1’24 edition of Market Watch, which includes server and client CPU shipment data back to Q1’21 and GPU-compute (GPGPU) shipment data back to Q1’21 for AMD, Intel, and Nvidia. The report includes an expansive pivot data array that includes those devices.

JPR also publishes a series of reports on the graphics add-in board market and PC gaming hardware market, the latter of which covers the total market, including systems and accessories, and looks at 31 countries.
