Primeview Brings UltraHD to Industry

A 32″ UltraHD LCD display, for the industrial market, has been released by Primeview. Known as the PRV324KLED, it can be used in applications such as control rooms, medical environments, signage and gaming.

Like Primeview’s other UltraHD screens, the PRV324KLED is available with embedded HDBaseT connectivity (PRV324KLEDHDBT), in addition to the standard DisplayPort and HDMI inputs.

The display is rated for 24/7 use, and features internal temperature sensors. It is ADA-compliant. A direct-LED backlight delivers 500 cd/m² to the display, which will also show 10-bit colour.

Refresh rate is 120Hz when showing 1920 x 1080 content, and 30Hz for UltraHD content. The panel has a 12ms response time, 1,000:1 contrast ratio and 178° viewing angles.

DisplayPort, HDMI (UltraHD at 60fps; 4:2:2 sub-sampling; input and output), USB-A, RS232 (input and output) and RJ45 (optional, for HDBaseT) ports are featured.

Primeview is selling the display through its partners now.

Analyst Comment

There was some confusion regarding the nature of the HDMI ports on this display. Primeview’s original specification sheet listed three different types: ‘HDMI-FHD’, ‘HDMI 1.4’ and ‘HDMI 2-UHD (internal)’. HDMI 2.0 was listed as ‘coming soon’ on the related press release. Primeview told us that both documents were from a pre-production version of the display; the new spec sheet, which Primeview sent to us, lists the above features. (TA)
