PPDS Shows Philips High-brightness LEDs

What They Say

At ISE, Philips (PPDS) will show new additions to the 7000 L-Line series of LED displays that was launched in 2020. Peak brightness is 3,500 cd/m² (up from older models) and the 22″, 31″ and 41″ sizes ( 50cm x 25cm, 75 cm x 25cm and 100 x 25 cm sizes) and are designed for 24/7 operation even in bright ambient sunlight. They are intended to be easy to install and are available with square or beveled corners to allow L-shaped corners and convex and concave curves. Pitch is 2.4mm

PPDS said that the displays run the firm’s Active Health Monitoring software, which provides real-time intelligent feedback on detected or predicted faults. They are IP30 certified and are designed to meet safety regulations for fireproofing in North America, EMEA and APAC regions (BS476, UL94, B1 DIN4102). Other features include Dynamic Power Saving, integrated cabling and factory calibration before shipment.

There was a brochure here when we went to press although this only covers the versions that were launched in 2020 at 1,200 cd/m².

What We Think

That’s a big boost in brightness, but at 3K5 cd/m², there are few places in retail where these displays would not be suitable. (BR)
