Portrait Displays has introduced the C6 HDR5000 colorimeter with measurement capabilities to a luminance range of up to 5,000 . This new colorimeter supports a wide array of display technologies, including Quantum-Dot, LCD LED, QD-OLED, OLED, and front-projection systems.
The company claims the C6 HDR5000 can provide accurate and quick handling of both low and high luminance conditions. It features advanced light and color dichroic glass filters, sealed optics, and sensors. It is touted for it durability and long lifespan, as well. The device is versatile, suitable for use with both flat panels and projectors, and can be used in contact and non-contact modes with an option for tripod mounting.
Portrait Displays is offering a trade-in rebate program, allowing eligible colorimeter owners to receive a 50% discount on the purchase of a C6 HDR5000. This is a very limited time offer. Its predecssor, the C6 HDR2000 could only measure up to 2000 cd/m². High-end TVs these days commonly achieve peak brightness levels between 1,000-2,000 nits and some premium models, particularly MiniLED TVs, can exceed 3,000 nits in small areas of the screen.
