PMA Research Tracking Shows Large-Format Flat Panel Display Sales Uptick in Distribution Channel

PMA Research (PMA), the worldwide market information experts on large displays, has published their latest sell-through tracking report on large-format (32” and larger) flat panel displays being sold by leading U.S. Distributors who serve commercial markets.

Sales of professional large-format flat panel displays sold through the U.S. Distribution channel held their own in October and registered at 3% uptick in units, coupled with and an 8% gain in revenues when compared to October 2018. The positive Y/Y performance was aided, in part, by sales of larger screen sizes. Year-to-date, the largest growth segment was the 75” category where unit sales were up nearly 50% compared to 2018 volumes. Overall, sales of professional displays 65-inches or larger were up nearly 10% from the same month last year.

55-inch models remained the most popular screen size with about 10% of that volume sold with a digital tuner and 10% with ultra-narrow bezels for videowalls. Additionally, weatherproof displays for outdoor signage accounted for about 10% of October’s unit sales.

Interactive display sales slowed sequentially, but year-to-date sales remain well ahead of 2018, with units and revenues both up by high double-digits.

PMA’s monthly Flat Panel Distributor Tracking report offers timely sell-through data and analysis on unit sales and market trends of large-format displays sold by leading U.S. AV and IT Distributors. These reports are ideal for tracking product and channel trends.
