PMA Research Tracking Reveals Top-Selling Projectors in September

PMA Research, the worldwide market information experts on front projectors, has posted highlights from their most recent Projector Tracking Service results to the “Top-Selling Projectors” area of their website. For more than 25 years now, PMA Research has collected monthly sell-through data from leading U.S. projector dealers, retailers, web resellers, and distributors.

Their Tracking Service family of monthly reports offer timely data and analysis on unit sales, true volume-weighted street prices, and inventories of front projectors for these channels.

Each month, PMA Research posts their “Top 5” Projector Lists for the following categories:

4K UHD and 4K Support Home Entertainment Projectors

This “Top 5? list is compiled from PMA’s monthly Retail Projector Tracking Service panel, which is made up of U.S. retailers, web resellers, and custom installers. For 4K UHD and 4K Support home entertainment projector sales, Epson had a pair of projectors make the September list. The Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 3800 took the top spot, and their PowerLite Home Cinema 5050UB came in third. ViewSonic’s PX701-4K was the second best-selling projector of the month. Optoma rounded out the September list with a pair of projectors. Optoma’s UHD38 and CinemaX P2 came in fourth and fifth, respectively.

Laser Projectors (Normal/Semi-Throw) with 5,000 and Higher Lumens

This “Top 5? list is compiled from PMA’s monthly Pro AV Projector Tracking Service panel, which is made up of Pro AV dealers and systems integrators. In the +5000-lumen, laser-phosphor projector segment, Sony had a pair of projectors on September’s list. Their VPL-PHZ50 and the VPL-PHZ60 came in first and third, respectively. Panasonic claimed the second spot with the PT-VMZ50. Epson rounded out the top-selling laser-phosphor projector list with the PowerLite L635SU and PowerLite L520U in fourth and fifth, respectively.

Installation Projectors with Interchangeable Lenses

This “Top 5? list is compiled from PMA’s monthly Distributor Projector Tracking Service panel, which is made up of IT, Pro AV, and CEDIA distributors. For the installation/interchangeable lens projector segment, Panasonic had two best-selling models in September. Their PT-MZ680 and PT-MZ880 came in first and third, respectively. NEC’s NP-PA653U was the second best-selling installation projector, and Sony’s VPL-FHZ75 came in fourth. Epson finished off this “Top-5” list with their EB-PU1007W/B in fifth.
