PMA Research, the worldwide market information experts on front projectors, has posted highlights from their most recent Projector Tracking Service results to the “Top-Selling Projectors” area of their website.
For more than 25 years now, PMA Research has collected monthly sell-through data from leading U.S. projector dealers, retailers, web resellers, and distributors. Their Tracking Service family of monthly reports offers timely data and analysis on unit sales, true volume-weighted street prices, and inventories of front projectors for these channels.
Each month, PMA Research posts their “Top 5” Projector Lists for the following categories:
Laser Projectors (Normal/Semi-Throw) with 5000 and Higher Lumens
This “Top 5? list is compiled from PMA’s monthly Distributor Projector Tracking Service panel, which is made up of IT, Pro AV, and CEDIA distributors. In the +5000-lumen, laser-phosphor projector segment, Panasonic had a trio of projectors on April’s list. Their PT-VMZ50, PT-VMW50, and PT-RZ570 came in first, second and fourth, respectively. Sony claimed the third spot with the VPL-PHZ50, and Epson’s PowerLite L610U rounded out this list in the fifth spot.
Interactive Projectors
This “Top 5? list is compiled from PMA’s monthly Pro AV Projector Tracking Service panel, which is made up of Pro AV dealers and systems integrators. In the Interactive projector segment, Epson had three of the “Top 5” models in April. Three BrightLink models – the 1485Fi, 725Wi, and 735Fi came in first, third and fifth, respectively. Maxell rounded out the Interactive models list with the MC-TW3506 in the second spot and the MP-TW4011 in the fourth spot.
4K UHD and 4K Support Home Entertainment Projectors
This “Top 5? list is compiled from PMA’s monthly Retail Projector Tracking Service panel, which is made up of U.S. retailers, web resellers, and custom installers. For 4K UHD and 4K Support home entertainment projector sales VAVA had the best-selling model – the VAVA 4K LT002. Optoma had a trio of projectors make this list in April – their UHD38, CinemaX P2 and UHD50X came in second, fourth and fifth, respectively. Epson rounded out the Home Entertainment projector list with the PowerLite Home Cinema 5050UB in the third spot.
